When I was a kid, I devoured data on the back of my baseball card collection. Sometimes, I would read some of the non-baseball information on the back of the card. It might tell something about the player having nothing to do with baseball, like this 1973 Clay Kirby issue:
I found out that Kirby was into miniature racing cars. Cool! So was I…and the front of card was an action shot! (They were just coming out as a standard image in the 70's). Guess what, Kirby became one of my favorites. Part of it was his "back" story.
It's okay on occasion to talk about your non-business passions or hobbies now and again. It might help build commonality, and therefore loyalty.
What's your backstory?
