Is There Only One Way to Use a Car?

Sometimes I think of the social media toolset like cars.

TaxiWhen they first came out, cars were simply used for transportation. Then, someone put a meter in a car and it became a taxi. Another decided they could help deliver stuff and now couriers double park in big cities.

Banks use cars to make house calls and magnetic signs appear on construction trucks.  There are semi-trucks that move products and people, buses that take us to Tahoe or Branson, and the folks that bring us pizza. We even have trucks that do nothing but advertise. See where I'm driving?

Okay, so…

How many of you think blogs are simply journals?  Or that Twitter is all about "What Are You Doing Now?" Or that YouTube is all about funny, funky videos?

These tools are still relatively new. Try new things. SCAMPER something.  If it doesn't work, move on.  Mistakes are Tuition.
