Textbooks Written in Manga? Learn from Johnny Bunko

I just picked up a copy of Johnny Bunko by Dan Pink. Haven’t cracked it open yet, but I caught this trailer of the book…

…and Garr Reynolds’ Johnny Bunkop prezo (learn how to PPT just by watching):

So here’s my question: When will we see textbooks in manga?

I’m confident Dan Pink’s message won’t be lost in the delivery — in fact, the message probably stands out (to the intended audience) because of the delivery.

Who’s ready to SCAMPER this idea into the classroom?

Hi Mike! Funny you should ask. I just co-founded a new college textbook publisher – Flat World Knowledge, after spending many years at traditional houses like Prentice Hall and Thomson. We are publishing top authors, but in the form of open textbooks (free and openly licensed).
We recently signed several author teams to produce Manga textbooks. The authors are all accomplished and recognized academics in their field, and the artist is world-class. I’d be happy to share a sample with you so you can see what it looks like – just email me! You can check out our business at Flat World Knowledge

    Mike:
Great question — I just read the book the other day and am seriously considering it for my Internship class this coming fall! I think the message is right on…and since I just happen to have MARKETING majors in the class, I think it would be a big hit!
See the challenge will be two-fold. Getting people to create the books…and then getting professors to ADOPT the books in their classes!
