Midwest Literacy Institute: June 23-27
I've been invited to present a session on "Online & New Media Literacy" at one of Angela Maiers' Literacy Institutes this summer.
For me, this is a subject that is growing in importance! While some educators and academicians are embracing the fact that students are all over these tools, most teachers are giving this tool set a yawning pass.
What they may not understand, is that as more students rely on these tools as a source of learning, the teacher that doesn't at least acknowledge its power (and pave a safe path along the information highway), may lose their voice of integrity.
I could (and should) expand on this thought, but that's another post, I'm sure.
Here are the details for the Midwest Literacy Institute - "From the Classroom to the Boardroom"
