"In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable." ~ Dwight D. Eisenhower
With the new year, many are planning their blog editorial schedule. A great idea, but realize that as things change, so might your schedule.
As you plan for your 2008 blogging, consider these tools to help with your planning (and change):
- A Notebook: Equip yourself with a WUP, then Recognize and Record
- Post-It Notes: I carry all sizes for various uses. Great for capturing thoughts in a season of change.
- A Pen. Yeah…a pen. I carry three, one for me…and two for the folks who forget theirs.
These tools will help you engage in-between those pulitzer-blog posts you’re planning. Check out Ginger (Snap!) Johnson rapid-fire conversation starters.
Remember, blogging can be a conversational tool. Don’t let a calendar either hamstring your creativity or turn your voice mechanical.
Maybe it’s time we "plan-as-you-go" in business and in business blogging.

Find Your Social Media ROI
I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.
