Tracking Your Comments

has an in-depth review of three comment tracking services: CoComment; Co.Mments; and Commentful. I’ve used the first two, sticking with CoComment for the most part.

All three offer an RSS feed to your comments, and I especially like how CoComment allows you to track conversations you don’t comment on – very useful for heavy-regulated industries (or those too scared to engage).

I’ve watched others try to track their comments via their feed aggregator (by flagging posts they comment on) or via del.icio.us. How do you track your comments?

Hat tip to Kyle and KylesCove for pointing out this resource.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

Co.mments actually lets you track them simply by clicking a bookmarklet while on the page itself, so you can track posts that you have not commented on as well.
CoComment is nice, but I like Co.mments better. The CoComment Firefox extension often slowed down my PC to a crawl. My only problem so far with Co.mments has been that the service is occasionally down.

Unfortunately, my CoComment extension thwarts my attempts to post comments on certain blogs. Right now I’m experimenting with Intense Debate, but so far it has been a bit buggy. It also only tracks my own comments if other blogs have the extension installed as well.

Tracking your comment is really important when you have comment in many blog. I have comment in about 5 to 7 blog. But, because I can’t tracking my comment with their blog. I have miss them out and forgot to go back to the comment. That’s why a blog branding will be important to let people remember you. Even they forgot where they have comment in your blog better but they know they have comment here. So, instead you want people to tracking their comment them self writing down somewhere else. The best matter is you can provide a remind me comment plugin. However, I will put link on my blogroll to keep track the site that I have comment before.

Hi Mike, I’m always on the look out for a new solution…
I found CoComment slow too (and it didn’t work for all blogs) but I liked the principle so I’ll check out other ones you mention. Other than that I rely on memory (for the blogs that I visit regularly), maybe on clipping the blog in my feedreader, or copying the link into a doc or equivalent where I can check back later to see if there’s a reply.

Just send us an email with your comments or issues and we will make whatever is possible to satisfy your needs.
Tracking conversation is what make commenting more dynamic. But, also, sharing and groups help you to invite more people to participate in a conversation and develop a community around conversations you like.
To easily browse your conversations and coComment community, give a try to our sidebar.
Last, but not least, by using our extension (for Firefox and IE), you can start a conversation wherever you like.
