Is Your Blog Worth $12.46

A company wants to launch a blog.

They’re not keen on linking out; they’re scared of comments; findability is a low-priority. And they want to learn everything in two hours.

My bid?  $12.46.  Twelve dollars, forty-six cents.

If it’s worth so little to them, why charge them more?

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

This could end up in one of those discussions about the nature of a blog. It doesn’t sound like they want a blog, but really just a web page managed with a blog platform.

Oh the joys…. This business just wants a simple webpage, no blog needed.

I know you believe in giving it away, but I think you are worth more than minimum wage!

That’s not a blog!? I think they just want to post an on-line newsletter.

    >Catherine! You get that much!:-) Too funny
    >Andrew, Jennifer, Chris: sounds like we’re in agreement. Simply use blogware as the CMS and have the feed – but let’s not do a release on “We’re Blogging!”
    >Art. Thanks for thinking I’m worth more. Of course, so is a blog, but that’s another post (Company Blog: Tool or Employee?)

I can’t think of a reason why a company would not want a blog. They could be the first in their industry or industry in their town to have one. It is worth $12.46. If they turn you down, they could very easily when their competitor has one that is raking in the business rue that they decided not to pay you for your expertise.
