Google News Goes Interactive

From Blogoscoped: Google News Adds Comments

Google is testing out an interactive feature allowing particpants of a story  to comment on the story. Those comments will appear in the Google News Search results.

Great idea (here’s hoping it works), because though the mainstream media often complains about the inaccuracies of blogger/journalists – there are plenty of misquotes and bad edits in news stories.

I wonder how will Google verify the legitimacy of the comment? Will the principles of a story comment in conversational tone or will it be PR-speak?  Which company will be the first to send in a comment that says, "No Comment?"

Bigger question: Will you know when you appear in a news story? Search Once and Subscribe.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

Good gosh, Mike! What’s this – news stories by wiki? How on Earth will anyone know what they’re reading is true (not that we really knew to begin with)?
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see how you’re going to be able to trust any such source of news unless you feel comfortable with the person providing the information. Sortof like the comfort we bloggers have with each other… which is earned over time.
