The Age of Conversation is BIG: Brilliant, Innovative, Generous

I finally got around to my copy of The Age of Conversation and was amazed at the various takes on the subject matter.

So many great chapters, so many money quotes (Greg Verdino’s "…digital and analogue conversations are two parts of the same whole." received an out-loud "Amen" from my lips). A few other great chapters:

  • Being a Give + Take Marketer by Matt Mark Goren
  • Shut Up by Spike Jones
  • Creating Video Conversations by Nicholas Wright
  • Sharing by Jessica Hagy
  • B2B Social Media: Don’t Monkey Around by Scott Monty
  • Want to Change the Organization? Change the Conversation by Steve Roesler
  • The Lowered Fence of Collaboration by Steve Woodruff

Because of this project, I’ve been introduced to many new voices. I’ve created a Grazr widget (check the sidebar) so you can explore their sites and subscribe to their RSS feeds.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

  • http://www.shapingyouth.org Shaping Youth

Mike, Shaping Youth (the token nonprofit represented at the Age of Conversation) was honored to represent the U.S. in opening a ‘conversation’ of shared dialogue this week at Women Leaders for the World summit, so I’ve told them all about AOC as a replicating model to take back to their countries and share visions globally with the rest of the world on a variety of subjects!
Our involvement with this project will have a FAR reach, no doubt…And I plan to take the conversation to the BlogHer.org crew as well for our ‘Blogger’s Act’ vision taking a united stand on one key issue to tackle in our blogs on a given day as a thread to unite us all.
I posted about AOC three different times on our blog, with all kinds of richness in terms of what this conversation REALLY means from the children’s charity viewpoint and model used for replication. It’s awe-inspiring what we can do with this giving people common tools and resources on various topics for transfer of knowledge!!!
I’ll be sending it back to my fellow gwln.org delegates with reach to Uganda, Zimbabwe, Peru, Turkey, Pakistan, China and more! Keep the conversation goin’!!! :-)
    Best, Amy
