Blog Artists Discover Their Focal Point

Iceberg
A blog site can be the focal point for your content and connections. But that’s just the tip of the blog.

The activity of blogging helps you refine – possibly even discover – your focal point in your business. Many of the consistent bloggers I know will say the activity of blogging helps define their business strategy.

What has most bloggers pumped is the power of connectivity and the real friendships that form as a result.

Beginning bloggers often say "I don’t know what to write." I’ll agree. Most people don’t – until they write it.  We don’t really know what we know until we articulate it.

There’s more to blogging than meets the eye. Sometimes, even the mind’s eye.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

    Mike,
Great post! You’re absolutely correct – there is so much more to this than I ever knew when I started. The benefits I’m seeing now weren’t anything I expected.

“The activity of blogging helps you refine – possibly even discover – your focal point in your business.” That’s an important insight, Mike. Blogging not only helps you reach other people, it’s a valuable tool for self-discovery. Doubly whammy, if you ask me.

Okay, that should have been DOUBLE whammy … shows you I never hit Preview before Post. :-)

    Hi Mike
Very much agree with this – blog writing is a great way to discover stuff that you didn’t know that you knew! As you say that’s good for defining business strategy and also for building your confidence in what you do.

    >Right there with ya, Patrick. I had an idea of the potential, but didn’tr imagine the breadth, depth or quickness. I’m thankful you took the leap of faith:-)
    >Connie – a doubly good comment, worth re-reading (was there a strategy involved there?) Brilliant!:-)
    >Joanna – Blogging can be almost like a whiteboard, draw it up there and see what your network thinks. The challenge for some is wanting to be perfect out of the gate (another post, I’m sure:-)

The power of blogs to tell our stories

How would you describe ‘blogging’ to someone who didn’t know anything about it? Liz Strauss has set a challenge to come up with metaphors for blogs and blogging that will help communicate what it’s all about. I’m a big fan
