99 Pictures of Peers in the Search

One way to use social media tools is to search for like-minded people and sites.

A friend in the mortgage business, but not yet blogging, wanted to know if other mortgage professionals are blogging. I did a quick search (20 minutes and out) using a few tools.

MyBlogLog offers up site thumbnails, and that where I start (you’ll find the search in the upper right corner after logging in). Here are a few of the better ones I found in a search for mortgage blogs:

Of course, one of the pioneers in blogging for mortgage pros is David Porter, who’s in transition from Michigan to Arizona (nice timing, Dave).

I limited the search to mortgage, but could’ve done home loan as well (the results). other tools of use for this type of search:

Of course, there are important questions to ask before conducting such a search:

  • Why are you searching? (Peers; Prospects; Collaboration; Research)
  • What are some synonomous phrases or industries?
  • If you make contact, will it be by email or blog comment?

Many reading this may not be involved in real estate, financing or mortgage. However, if you replace the word "mortgage" with a keyword of your own…

Happy Hunting:-)

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

Thanks for your help with this Mike! I will browse and see what I find. I also need to set up a Technorati account to stay in the loop with these bloggers.

  • http://www.themortgagereports.com Dan Green

Thanks for the coverage. Its funny that you wrote “Dan Keegan” instead of “Dan Green” — I know a guy with that name…

  • http://www.brian-brady.com Brian Brady

Thanks for the mention. I’m honored to be mentioned with Dan and Rhonda; I’ll get to know Rhonda and Matthew because of this entry.

  • http://www.mortgageporter.com Rhonda Porter

Hi Mike, thanks for including Mortgage Porter in your post. Ditto on what Brian commented; I’m going to check out Robin and Matthew’s blogs as well (I’m all ready familiar with those other two guys)!

I work in mortgages, and this post is actually a nice collection of links for me to find info about what I do on the web. Thanks!

I agree with you no doubt all links are too much useful and the main thing is that I have to get all of them at the same place. No need to search here and there for that. Good work dude :)
