Every once in awhile, I hear or see the question of "When is the best time to post?" or "Which is the best day to post?"
The answer depends on your goals and your audience. If you’re a problogger, you’re bottom line may be about traffic and clickthroughs. If you’re trying to build a business, you’re bottom line is to convert readers into customers.
Either way, we need to keep the Three C’s in mind. Conversation builds Community builds Commerce. Focusing on the first two Cs will breathe life into the third C. Focusing on the third C will kill the first two Cs.
For several weeks here, there has been a higher level of engagement between Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings.
That’s not to say I get more page views or visits, but the comments, navigation depth, and search within my site all increase on a per visitor basis during these times.
This doesn’t surprise me. When I was orchestrating AOL communities, the number of community members dropped during the weekends – but, the length and depth of community involvement increased.
With winter upon us, it’s even more likely that these times are a wonderful opportunity to build community.
If you’re away from your computer, schedule your posts accordingly. If you’re at your computer, join a few communities via MyBlogLog by searching on terms such as Marketing or Small Business or Food (for my restaurant friends).
While I believe it’s important to write posts and comment often (at least five of each is what I preach), don’t forget the weekends.

Find Your Social Media ROI
I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.
