Genuine On, Genuine Off

Liz Strauss offers a foundation of reason in the first sentence of her first post at The Blog Herald:

"Authenticity and Transparency are the reason I love blogging."

As you begin your blogging journey, you’ll find Authenticity and Transparency coming up a lot. These two traits are the cornerstones of blogging.

I don’t know about you, but I like doing business with people who are genuine; consistent; real. Over time, whether offline or online, we notice what’s genuine or not.

Another line from Liz I really connect with:

"When you meet with your friends and your family, bring what you’ve learned about authenticity and transparency to the real world."

I like it when someone says to me: "You sound like your blog," or "I can almost hear your voice when I read your blog." That means a lot to me.

Now, if I can just figure out how give you a hug on my blog.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

    Mike,
You are as genuine as they come . . . I get a hug from you blog every time I come here. :)

Mike, sorry. I think you’re great and all but I’m just not a huggy guy. I’ll settle for a handshake! :)
Oh, and I haven’t clicked through your feed in a while. Just noticed your new feed icon. How totally cool!

Mike – I think you HAVE figured out how to deliver a hug via your blog. I’ve gotten a few from you anyway!
Too bad Chris isn’t a hugger. I am, and he’s going to get one when he comes to Milwaukee. I may have to settle for a one-armed hug, but I’ll get one!

Soon this mode of transparent authenticity will become mainstream – I long for this. The future of real Democracy is in everyone’s hearts and hands now. People are being judged by their archive and being held accountable for what they do (and don’t do) and who they are linked to.
The Converstations channel is a bright light of pure energy and positivity. With sites like this, 2007 is sure to be a year filled with genuine authenticity and bold action.
Have a relaxing Holiday Season Mike. Keep your heart lit, you’re building a meaningful difference.

    > Liz, now THAT is a better compliment that “I sound like my blog” – WOW.
    >Chris, guess what my new year’s resolution/wish is for you?:-)
    >Phil, Until we meet – we’ll keep sharing through others.
    >Jamie – We agree. There is a group saying that *bloggers* don’t have the accountability that other fields have. I disagree – we hold each other accountable. Thanks for the kind words – and let me reflect them right back atcha. Stay contagious!
