Five Things in a Story

Liz tagged me with a meme yesterday
To write Five Things You Might Not Know
But being transparent, as I have
It’s hard to know which direction to go.

I’ve written about my days as a baseball coach
That I’ve been a dancer, a preacher and a (cabbie) hack
I’ve orchestrated communities for AOL
Though that was a few years back.

You know I like to rhyme and sing
Though sometimes not very well
But as I continue to work on this blog
I’m getting more better to write and spell:-)

Five Things You Might Not Know
I once fell off a quarry as a teen
Counting the bounces, a 50-foot fall
I (sorta) enjoy swimming in a pool,
but I always stay close to the wall

I once hopped a freight train
Vegas to Barstow, such a long ride.
Ooh, the things I did as a youth,
I should have long ago died

Well, there are four things
Do we really need one more?
After all, this is blogging not surgery
It’s not like we’ll spill blood on the floor

But since we’re on the subject of blood
And while business is still this blog’s goal
Because of Jesus Christ living in my heart
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

Hopped a freight train?! Now that’s cool.
I understand where you’re coming from. I , too, should have not made it out of my teen age years alive, but someohow I survived!
    Glad you made it too!

    Thanks Carolyn:-)
Ann, I shouldn’t have made it past 18, which was right around the time of the train ride (I didn’t find a boxcar)

My dad’s saloon was literally right next to the tracks. The guy who lived in the back was a real hobo — retired from the rails. No wonder we understand what we’re saying. In my heart in your heart. It’s the same thing. ;)

Very cool stuff Mike. I love learning new stuff about folks I thought I knew. Now I know you better.

    >Liz, it’s not accidental I picked this theme and job title, right?:-)
    >Thanks, Phil. I was a bit hesitant to write it, but hey – transperancy is one of the great things about blogging. Plus, I know there’s a safety net of friends like yourself.
