November Blog Tipping

Blogtipping_3 In this month’s BlogTipping, we’ll focus on a few companies that blog (none of which I’m involved with – yet).

Blog Tip #1: JugglingStore
Author: Brian Sutherland

Lovin’ it for:

Tippin’ it for:
- Link to other bloggers. A request for submissions was made, but sometimes you gotta go get ‘em. A Google Blog Search or Technorati search on juggling, jugglers or clowns would be a great start in finding them. Great job!

BlogTip #2: Step 2 – Manufacturer/Marketer of products for children and for home and garden.
Author: Andy Pull

Lovin’ it for:

  • The blog is integrated into their navigation and brings the look, feel and branding of their corporate site
  • The posts are short yet informative. Most importantly, Andy does a great job of talking with the customer rather than at the customer.
  • The blog shares insights into other tools and cook links that could be important to their audience. They also ask important questions

Tippin’ it for:
- Find and link to potential customers. Build and extend a conversation around what your marketplace is already talking about. Find parenting blogs that discuss like products, landscaping blogs that talk about designing home and garden, link to some cool blogs that may be important to your readers.

BlogTip #3: Little Choo Choo Shop
Author: Probably Matt, but maybe parts of the whole team. Pictures of the team are on the company site.

Lovin’ it for:

  • The title and theme of the site (ya think?)  Need a Conversation Conductor?
  • Posts are short and drive back to core business
  • BAM – Phone number right up front. I know how to make contact.

Tippin’ it for:
- Having put some coal in the fire, you’re starting to build up a head of steam. Don’t lose the rhythm. Link out to train enthusiasts. Have a conversation rather than simply a copy of an email blast. Why do you make trains? What do you love about it? Hate about it? Who’s on the team? Just make like you and your customer are in the dining car – and talk with us.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.
