Whistle Stops 10/08/06

Mostly the Whistle Stops are for the conversations, but there were a few double-takes today as I noticed new designs:

  • Why Blog? by Jeffrey Phillips at Thinking Faster: A great look into one person’s reason for blogging: "…creating a community of people who care about a topic or subject and who are interested in learning more, discussing ideas, suggesting new concepts and so much more."
  • 10 Things They Didn’t Tell You About Blogging by Rajesh Setty at Life Beyond Code: Raj shoots straight here. Number 7 is a key – not only in blogging, but just about everything in life, no?

I spend most of my week reading content through feeds, but on the weekend I try to visit sites to catch up, comment, etc.  I noticed lots of redesigns today:

  • Motivation on the Run I like it! Much easier to read. Using the Cutline design by Chris Pearson (who also redesigned with Cutline).
  • ProPr switches to WordPress – again, much easier to read – and better branding.
  • Management Skills Blog  A wider screen and drop-down menus for Archives and Categories. The Notable Quote refresh is a nice touch.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.
