Google Docs & Spreadsheets

I like the new Google Docs & Spreadsheets . It allows you to edit the HTML on the fly, without all the ASCII characters found in MS Word (though the next version of Word will not have that garbage anymore).

You can save it as a Word doc or PDF; get a Word Count and check your spelling, insert links and images….very nice!

I’ve used the collaboration on the spreadsheet. The embedded Google Talk is fantastic as you can virtually work with anyone, anywhere.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

    Mike,
Thanks for the info, I had no idea this was available from Google. These features will make it an excellent tool for working with my clients:
    1. Choose who can access your documents and spreadsheets. Just enter the email addresses of the people with whom you want to share a given file and send them an invitation.
    2. Share instantly: Anyone you’ve invited to either edit or view your document or spreadsheet can access it as soon as they sign in.
    3. Edit with others in real time: Multiple people can view and make changes at the same time. There’s an on-screen chat window for spreadsheets, and document revisions show you exactly who changed what, and when.
    Again, thanks for the post.

Excellent. Thanks for the linkage, and thanks for the additional info on the Collaboration feature, which I didn’t try out. The embedded Google Talk is a great idea. I wonder if the relationship between the tools will drive interest in Talk, or D&S.

This is simply Writely rebranded as Google. If you asked me they took a step in the wrong direction (backwards). The Writely interface was a far better experience.

    >Greg: Thanks for your comment. The sharing and the real-time chat feature make this a tool that will be used often here.
    >AndyP: Thanks again for your review!
    >AndyB: I’m asking:-) I used Writerly a bit, and though its been awhile, what are the differences you notice?
