Blogging and Conversations

True confession time.

It’s been almost four full days since writing a blog post (anywhere), reading the feeds I follow (except for a few important searches and favorite sites) and/or commented on another blog.  I’ve missed the people. (I just heard Maria got married)

So much.  …to catch up on, to share, to comment on. But where to start? With my ears and eyes.

I’ve been taking notes on the WUP all along, so I’ve plenty of blog-fodder, but I’m going to catch up on comments and feeds before I go off on a 5,000 word "Here’s what I’ve been doing" post.

And here’s the real deal on this post: When you go silent for a few days, just start typing. Make it short. Crawl back into the conversation.

Give yourself a chance to catch up. Gives your readers a chance to catch up with you. When it comes to blog debt, the rates are low, the lenders forgiving.

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

I like these suggestions Mike, and it can be hard to keep up — cause life keeps getting in the way. As the blogging community grows so does the rush to keep up. Great suggestions here to rebooting our thoughts for blog — thanks. I also like to come back by skipping around and reading a few of my favorite blogs -to see what people are up to at the moment. That often cues what I want to post next:-)

Seems there is a lot of blog debt building up … our mutual friend Mike Wagner must have a wealth of stories built up by now. I am expecting an avalanche any day!

    >Ellen, great idea about reading other blogs to kick-start your brain. Sometimes, even typing a draft can get our blog in motion.
    >Gavin, Yep:-) Mike W. has been plenty busy gathering and creating stories for his clients. I look forward to reading what he’s been up to – though I’m in a fortunate position to live in his zip code. I benefit from his energy as he flies by:-)

Mike — This is so timely. There is not enough time in the day to blog on everything I’d like to. In fact, I can’t even find enough time to blog enough to feel I hit the points I wanted to make in a week. Sometimes, out of necessity, going quiet, and then coming back in, gives me some perspective on what is most important. When you have limited time, sometimes those entries can be your best work. I’m going to keep your advice on top of mind… “Just start typing” is my favorite recommendation. It’s so true. Thanks always for your inspiration and balanced approach on blogging. :)
