Iowa Senators 100% in Feeds and Podcasts

Mark Woodman at inkBlots shares his findings from a survey of US Senate sites that publish content feeds. Only 25 percent offer a feed or podcast of their news items. Mark also found this tidbit:

"Another interesting aspect is that only two states have feeds for both of their senators: Colorado and Iowa. That means the other 21 states have senators who apparently don’t bother to unify/sync their communications efforts. (It might also just mean their webmasters don’t talk to each other.)"

Find Your Social Media ROI

I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.

Good find Mike! And a good example for the rest of Iowa’s business community. It is not too often that politicians lead the way in communication. I wonder who might learn from this?!

You expect government workers to be tech savvy enough to know what they’re doing? Shoot, they only got the job because of their brother or their friend. ;)
I’ve learned rather quickly that unless it’s a military apparatus, civilians are going to develop and understand it a lot more quickly than the government.

Mike and JD…I agree that the state leaders using feeds is a good thing, and if they got together a team of tech savvy workers (relatives?), so be it.
Even in business, we must use all of our strength to deliver the goods and services, right?

Even more evidence in the subtle, oft overlooked greatness of Iowa ;)
