Whenver I talk with business leaders involved in a Chamber of Commerce or EconDev project, I point to the example being set by Savannah’s Creative Coast Initiative.
If business development, attracting new businesses, keeping young talent at home, providing networking opportunities and assisting the growth of the business and civic community are part of the goals of such an organization, Savannah is doing a great job.
- Savannah RSS Feeds Including jobs and resumes, mainstream media, business directory. If I’m a small business in Savannah, being part of this organized effort is a must.
- Listing of Free Wi-Fi spots (only missing maps)
- Listing of Savannah area blogs (Wow!)
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Savannah implement Grazr or some form of OMPL use soon. For all this to happen, politics need to take a back seat to collaboration.
I’m looking forward to the Greater Des Moines Partnership doing similar things. I know that they’re keen on the idea and planning a strategy for feeds.

Find Your Social Media ROI
I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.
