Are You Listening?
Ted Demopoulos points us to Mark White's post on Monitoring your brand, company and industry...
Mark says, in part:"Whether or not you are actively participating in what is happening in the online environment which includes blogs, you should at the very least be aware of the conversations that are taking place and be listening to them/"
Ted says: "If your not monitoring, I'll simply say in an astonished voice,'Your customers are talking, and you're NOT listening? Whattsamatterwithyou?' And it's not just customers, but potential customers, competitors, partners, and more . . ." Ted
My take: Listen to the Conversations. Just as a conversation has two roles, Blogging has Two Roles. You may say, "Hold on, Mikey." (and please, anything but 'Mikey'), "My customers aren't blogging."
Maybe not yet. Maybe not ever. But maybe - just maybe - your top clients have customers blogging about them. What kind of value-add would you be giving your clients by alerting them of such conversations. That's right, do a search on/for your clients You could save THEIR business. Follow it up by teaching them to do the same. How's that for building strong relationships.
It's easy, most of the tools are free (for now), and remember - Search Once and Subscribe. One question: Got Your Business Ears On?
