Talking with a young baker this week about blogs, the question "How do I find other Bakery Blogs?" came up. Thanks to Steve Rubel and del.icio.us, I was ready with an answer.
Steve recently shared a link how to quickly find a blog about (blank). I saved Steve’s post to my del.icio.us page. This morning, we did a search to find Bakery Blogs. We found a few:
- MÄNI’S BLOG CAFÉ in Los Angeles, CA
- Eli’s Cheesecake in Chicago, IL
- CakeLove with three locations in the D.C. metro
We also found plenty of blogs dedicated to baked goods and tasty treats.
Unfortunately, you can’t practice Search Once and Subscribe with the link above. But you can with Google’s Blog Search. Look for the RSS or Atom link on the left. I’d suggest you "Sort by Date" before you subscribe.
You can also use Technorati’s Blog Finder search. It’s one of four tabs above the search input field. This search organizes blogs by category, rather than posts by tags. We found a couple of additional Bakery Blogs here:
- Vermont Shortbread Company in Huntington, VT
- Mrs. Olsen’s Cookies in Spokane, WA
Remember, it’s called "search" not "find immediately." Both have a few challenges – Technorati seems to think I haven’t updated this blog for over a month. But it’s well worth the effort, especially if you Search Once and Subscribe.

Find Your Social Media ROI
I hear it from a lot of business owners: “Where is the ROI with all this Social Media?“ If this is a question you ask yourself, maybe we should work together a bit more. We can work together solo, or via a professional learning community. Find and increase your ROI. There is a “there” there.
