Finding Value w/ Daily Links
When I first began blogging, I thought daily links were a lazy way to publish a post. It almost stopped me from subscribing to some feeds. When I show these posts to others, their initial reaction is similar.
Yet, I find myself gravitating to these postings first. Those who publish these types of posts are providing tremendous value to their audience.
This morning, Phil Gerbyshak's links point to this great article and a blog I hadn't seen before (but am now subscribed). Among Trevor Cook's list was this post that includes a link to two recent studies on Word of Mouth and Buzz Marketing. Good stuff I wouldn't have found otherwise.
Many of these bloggers use the del.icio.us thingy. Fred Wilson has a quick tutorial on how you can set one up. For Whistle Stops, I don't use the del.icio.us tool, but will bookmark items in del.icio.us for later use.
These aren't lazy posts (though they can be published while you're sleeping), it's actually quite a commitment to sustain. I appreciate those who do it regularly. Here are some I favor:
- Communication Overtones
- Corporate Engagement (Daily Comments...)
- Gary Slinger
- Make it Great
- Media Orchard (Pick of the Orchard)
- Media Guerrilla
- Micro Persuasion
- ProPr (Linkworthy)
- Resonance Partnership Blog
- The Right Conversation
- Ross Mayfield's Weblog
If you're a business owner or independent contractor, consider doing something like this on your blog. By sharing what you're reading - sharing your knowledge - your customers become smarter, and you're all on the same page.
