Blogging in Motion

Wayne Hurlbert at Blog Business World talks about Blog Evolution in a recent post, saying, in part:

"Part of the true power of having a blog is its flexibility. The blog’s ability to grow, adapt to changing needs, and to reflect an entirely new focus is a strength of blogging. As with all change, it’s inevitable. We can either let the changes roll over us, or we can put the altered times to work for us."

Change is growth. Last fall, Jennifer Rice of Brand Mantra recognized and reinvented some of her blogging philosophy. Thankfully, Jennifer is still blogging.

I like best what Zane Safrit at Conference Calls Unlimited says though: "It’s cool man…I’m in beta."

Don’t be like the pilot who, when facing turbulence on a flight from Chicago to San Jose, turned around and went back to O’Hare to start over. Simply modify your flight (blog) plan.

With new information, new decisions are made.  Maybe you find a niche you hadn’t thought of when you first started your blog. Maybe your business model changes completely. It’s okay, things change.

Wayne says it succinctly, "Embrace the change." To which I often add, "…before it tackles you."
